An employee of a Sherbrooke convenience store allegedly stole over $80,000 worth of scratch cards

A 27-year-old Sherbrooke resident was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly stealing more than $80,000 worth of scratch tickets from his employer.

The suspect, employed in two convenience stores, would have managed to steal lottery tickets in recent months, pocketing the winning prizes.

The Sherbrooke Police Service (SPS) arrested the 27-year-old man on Wednesday.

“The suspect was questioned yesterday afternoon and a search took place at his home. He will appear in court today,” the police said in a statement Thursday morning.
