Château de Versailles: an electronic music concert for the 400th anniversary of the building – (France 2)
The Palace of Versailles celebrated its 400th anniversary on Monday December 25. For the occasion, and this is a first, the Palais des Glaces hosted an electronic music concert by Jean-Michel Jarre.
Electronic music in the legendary Hall of Mirrors. For the 400th anniversary of the castle, a show at the cutting edge of modernity. A few hours before going on stage, Jean-Michel Jarre, the artist, gives his final recommendations to his team, like an orchestra conductor. Using a virtual reality headset, Jean-Michel Jarre performs in Versailles, and at the same time in the metaverse.
Between tradition and modernity
A parallel world, online, which allows him to play with the place. High technology in the heart of Versailles (Yvelines)? No surprise, the castle has always welcomed the most cutting-edge artists. A modernity undoubtedly quite close to that which Louis XIV wanted for his time. And the public was won over. Some 700 privileged people were able to attend this exceptional concert, the first of electronic music, in the Hall of Mirrors.
