Fabien Mulyk, mayor of the village of Corps (Isère) and departmental councilor, was found guilty of electoral fraud and sentenced to two years of ineligibility, the Grenoble prosecutor’s office announced on Tuesday January 23.

The elected official, aged 50 (Right, Center & Civil Society group on the departmental council), was also sentenced by the Grenoble criminal court to a six-month suspended prison sentence and a fine of 3,000 euros, said prosecutor Eric Vaillant.

He appeared on January 9 before this court, accused of “voluntary substitution or imitation of signature on a voting list”, for having voted without a proxy in place of two friendly voters during the departmental and regional election of June 20, 2021 in Body. The prosecution had requested five years of ineligibility and a fine.
