Europe Ecology-The Greens (EELV) denounces this Monday in a statement posted on Twitter the aggression of an elected environmentalist while protesting against an event of Eric Zemmour’s party, Reconquest, at the Buffalo Hacienda campsite in La Seyne-sur-Mer (Var).
This Sunday around 11:15 a.m., “while he was protesting peacefully (…) Hakim Bouaksa, elected municipal ecologist of the city of La Seyne was violently attacked by the far right”, explains EELV. 30 days of ITT
“Released from the hospital, Hakim Bouaksa suffers from a broken arm, head trauma, sprained neck and various contusions”, specifies EELV. The Toulon public prosecutor Samuel Filniez told franceinfo that he was issued a 30-day ITT.
The Toulon public prosecutor’s office has opened a flagrant investigation for “aggravated violence” following a complaint filed by Hakim Bouaksa. The elected EELV “indicates that he suffered violence at the hands of people who are not identified with certainty on the sidelines of a political rally”says the prosecutor.
An observatory of violence against elected officials launched at the end of May by EELV
In its press release, Europe Écologie-Les Verts writes that “Faced with this cowardly and violent aggression, EELV affirms its total solidarity with Hakim Bouaksa”. “The behavior of Hakim’s aggressors gives a taste of what France would be if the far right were to one day rule it.”
EELV launched an observatory of violence against elected officials and environmental activists at the end of May. It should open by the end of the summer.
