An earthquake felt in the Montreal region

Many areas of Lanaudière, eastern Montreal and Montérégie were shaken by an earthquake measuring 3.4 on a scale of 9 on Sunday evening.

The earthquake was particularly felt in Montreal, Longueuil, Mascouche and Repentigny, on the North Shore, around 8:04 p.m.

According to Earthquakes Canada, which confirms this information on its website, the epicenter of the earthquake would be located 25 kilometers from Montreal.

No damage was reported.

On social networks, many Internet users indicated that they felt the shock.

Residents of Repentigny, Boucherville, Mascouche and many boroughs of Montreal notably reported the earthquake.
