An earthquake of magnitude 3 on the Richter scale was felt in the metropolitan area on Monday evening, around 9:23 p.m.
According to preliminary data from the American agency USGS, the epicenter of the earthquake would be located 5 km northeast of Bois des Fillion, on the North Shore of Montreal, at a depth of 9.8 km.
Several Internet users reported the event on social networks Monday evening.
Remember that the Montreal region is at moderate risk of earthquakes. According to Earthquake Canada, a tremor of 3 on the Richter scale is “often felt, but rarely causes damage”.
