An award-winning sheep’s cheese in Argagnon

Jimmy Rover and his partner Mélanie live in Argagnon with 180 sheep that Jimmy takes care of. Our shepherd from Vielleségure a few kilometers from Orthez is not at all from a family of farmers. From a very young age it was his dream to raise animals. After a classic school curriculum, he goes to the agricultural school of Orthez.

At 5 years old Jimmy was already attracted to breeding. At the very beginning he started with goats to move on to ewes later.

Installed since 2019 in Argagnon, it is Mélanie his companion who will give him the idea to make his tomme de brebis compete. All his friends and family talk about this cheese fondly. The tomme de brebis is tasted at the competition in Lyon and wins the gold medal in 2021. Our shepherd/cheesemaker is emancipated, he brings us a new Reblochon-style cheese in the studio. We all agree with the team it is really delicious and not common. Jimmy’s cheeses are available at the farm.
