An auction for art therapy | The Press

An auction of self-portraits taken by public figures will be held starting Tuesday to raise funds for the Montreal Alternative Learning Center. Daniel Bélanger, Louise Forestier and Michel Tremblay are among the hundred participating artists.

The actress Pascale Bussières, spokesperson for the organization which supports, among other things, people with mental health problems through art therapy, got involved in this campaign for the 12e year.

“I believe deeply and more and more that creation is the most promising path to the appeasement of the soul,” she wrote in a press release. The mission of the Montreal Parallel Learning Center (CAP) seems to him “more necessary than ever” in a “context of social crumbling”.

Last year, the self-portrait auction allowed the organization to raise $100,000. In addition to the people named above, the list of participants also includes names like designer Marie Saint Pierre, Sophie Grégoire, Boucar Diouf and Guy A. Lepage.

The auction takes place from April 23, 5:30 p.m., to 1er may.
