An astronaut and two cosmonauts return to Earth after a stay on the ISS

The trio spent 371 days in space as members of Expeditions 68 and 69.

An American NASA astronaut and two Russian cosmonauts landed on Earth on Wednesday, September 27. Their landing took place without incident, after spending more than a year aboard the International Space Station (ISS), announced the Russian agency Roscosmos.

“Today, at 2:17 p.m. Moscow time (1:17 p.m. Paris time) the Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft with Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergei Prokopiev and Dmitry Petelin, and NASA astronaut Francisco Rubio, who spent a year at board the ISS, landed in the region of the city of Jezkazgan in Kazakhstan”announced the Russian agency in a press release.

The trio returned to Earth after spending 371 days in space as members of Expeditions 68 and 69. For Francisco Rubio, his mission is the longest space flight by an American astronaut in history.
