A forty-year-old armed with a hunting rifle, who strolled this Thursday morning in the center of Saint-Quentin (Aisne) while firing shots, was injured during his arrest by the police.
These are witnesses who called the police early Thursday morning to report that a lone man firing shots in the center, with no identifiable target according to the first elements.
The man transferred to the University Hospital of Amiens
The police intervened; the man fired in their direction without hitting them. The police fired back; the 40-year-old was injured in the shoulder. He was first taken to the emergency room of the Saint-Quentin hospital, but must be transferred in the next few moments to the CHU of Amiens.
According to the Saint-Quentin prosecutor’s office, the man was not known to the police. An investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
