an application to fight against sexual harassment

Musilac wants to reassure its festival-goers! The festival welcomes up to 25,000 people each evening. After the cases of wild stings in nightclubs and music festivals in particular, the organizers of the music festival, which is held from July 60 to 10 on the lake esplanade in Aix-les-Bains, want to make the event safer. For the first time, they are offering festival-goers an application to fight against harassment and sexual violence.

A concern among some young festival-goers. “We have heard a lot about wild bites“, says Elena, “the festival remains a gathering of people, at night, with people who may want to steal us.” “I’m not going to deprive myself of going there, but there is a little concern all the same“, admits Manon before the festival. “I will always stay with my friends, never alone.

Three alert levels

So to fight against all forms of harassment, it is possible to download on the phone the “Safer” application. “During the festival, if you have the slightest concern, you can report it on the application with three levels: embarrassment, danger, or the intermediate level, if you feel that the situation could degenerate“, describes Jeanne D’Inca, in charge of prevention against gender-based and sexual violence at the event.

We permanently have 25 volunteers sensitized and trained on the subject of the festival and the campsite, ready to discuss and help you.

A necessity for the manager: “There was a release of speech. The next step seemed to be listening and setting up something concrete. We had already planned “Safer” before the first cases of injections in concert, but it is completely in line with this dynamic. We have a lot of people for whom this is the first festival, who need to be reassured and that’s normal.

The Safer app has been around for a few months, it has already been used in other festivals in Francesuch as the Printemps de Bourges in April or the Hell-fest in June.
