Anger from the mayor of Saint-Père-sur-Loire, in Loiret. Exasperated by the wild dumping of waste by a resident, he took matters into his own hands and decided to send the garbage bags back to his garden, with a very clear message.
In 24 hours, his rant has been seen and shared thousands of times. Patrick Foulon brought back no less than 12 garbage bags to their owner, a resident of a neighboring town who left them in the wild, leaving proof of his identity inside. If the mayor is angry, it is because in his town of a thousand inhabitants on the banks of the Loire, the problem of illegal dumping is recurrent.
At the village bar-tabac, the first city councilor has gained notoriety: everyone has seen the video and the initiative finds a favorable echo. Saint-Père-sur-Loire (Loiret) has two municipal agents. Three times a week, they go around the town and find enough to fill a dump truck every month. In addition to having recovered his garbage, the offender was fined 135 euros.
