How far will artificial intelligence go? On YouTube, the Curious Refuge channel shared a fake trailer that made moviegoers dream. The creator of the video, in the description, immediately specifies that it is a fake trailer created thanks to artificial intelligence, “a whimsical and visually stunning trailer that reimagines the classic Star Wars universe through the eccentric lens of Wes Anderson”. This gives an imaginary film, Galactic Menagerie (the galactic menagerie), a mashup between the universe of the saga of Georges Lucas and that of the director of The Grand Budapest Hotel.

We see several codes from the Star Wars saga, the Stormtroopers, Darth Vader, R2D2 and other droids, or more or less well-made ships. On the side of the universe of Wes Anderson, we find his style with characteristic colors and effects of symmetry, and regular returns to childhood, as with this paper airplane which appears in the middle of the trailer after a big cinematic voice gave us an inventory of the galactic weapons that we would find in the film.

Finally, the author of the video, thanks to his artificial intelligence, added a whole range of Hollywood stars. We find Timothée Chalamet in the role of Luke Skywalker, Scarlett Johansson plays Princess Leia, Han Solo is played by Edward Norton, Bill Murray is Obi-Wan Kenobi. And dark side of the Force, we find Jeff Goldblum as Emperor, Willem Dafoe as Grand Moff of the Galactic Empire. And behind Darth Vader’s mask is Owen Wilson. During the false trailer we even hear at one point the voice of Timothée Chalamet, reconstructed by artificial intelligence. Even if there are several visible flaws in the video, Internet users are impressed by the result which proves once again that artificial intelligence continues to evolve.
