“We have just taken another step to offer our members a new collective agreement. We went at the end of the year to obtain maximum concrete gains in order to improve their working conditions, ”said APTS President Robert Comeau in a press release.

The agreement in principle obtained the support of 81% of the delegation from the APTS General Council. The union will present the agreement to its 60,000 members at several meetings, and suggest that they adopt it.

In particular, the agreement provides for bonuses offered to workers who work with clients of the Youth Protection Directorate (DYP) as well as better remuneration for psychologists, educators and social workers. “Overall, it’s a good agreement for professional and technical staff in health and social services,” said Robert Comeau.

“I am delighted with the conclusion of this tentative agreement. I am convinced that we are proposing an agreement, which will promote the retention of staff already in place, while making these jobs more attractive, ”for her part reacted the President of the Treasury Board, Sonia LeBel, in a press release.

The APTS is the only union in the health sector that has not renewed its collective agreement for the years 2020-2023.
