A new drama in Gaza. Paris has “sentenced”, Saturday January 16, an Israeli bombardment in the Gaza Strip causing the death of an agent of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Quai d’Orsay demanded that “all light be shed” about this drama “as soon as possible”.
“It is with great emotion that the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs learned of the death of one of its agents, who died as a result of his injuries during an Israeli bombing in Rafah, in the south from the Gaza Strip”, announced the Quai d’Orsay in a press release.
Part of his family repatriated to France
The agent who had worked for France since 2022, and whose identity and nationality were not specified, had found refuge in the house of one of his colleagues at the French consulate general, alongside two other colleagues and members of their family. The house in which the agent took refuge was hit by an Israeli bombardment on Wednesday evening, causing around ten victims.
Part of his family was able to leave Gaza for France, as part of the evacuation system put in place by France which included French people present in the Gaza Strip, agents of the French Institute and their beneficiaries. .
