An administrative investigation will begin after the school holidays at the Pierre Bayen high school in Châlons-en-Champagne (Marne). Investigation to try to shed light on the reports and complaints targeting a former high school teacher who committed suicide at the beginning of December 2023.

According to France Bleu Champagne-Ardenne, Pascal Vey, French teacher at the Pierre Bayen high school, committed suicide last December. He was the target of at least nine complaints from students and former students. The FCPE received at the rectorate

In fact, on April 5, 2023, justice received several testimonies from students or former students and teachers. Acts of harassment and inappropriate behavior with sexual connotations on the part of Pascal Vey have been denounced, reports France Bleu Champagne-Ardenne. An investigation opens on April 12. At the start of the 2023 school year, Pascal Vey is once again in front of students from Bayen high school.

During the preliminary investigation, more than thirty students and former students were interviewed. Nine filed a complaint, according to the prosecution. These complaints ultimately led the rectorate to suspend the professor on September 29. Reports made by a professor at the establishment dated back to 2021, she was already denouncing dysfunctions at the time. It was supported by the FCPE.

Thursday March 9, the FCPE from the Pierre Bayen high school will be received at the rectorate. The legal action has been terminated since the death of the teacher but the FCPE is asking the rector for clarification on what it calls administrative dysfunctions.
