an addition to 50 billion euros for government measures

It is an escalation of measures and expenditure to which the government has done in recent days to fight inflation: extension discount ​18 cents on fuels, the announcement of a food check of 100 euros which will cost 1 billion euros, revaluation of the index point of civil servants for 7 billion euros or even the increase in social benefits (retirement, RSA, housing allowances ) which would also cost 7 billion euros. The total cost of this aid to the French should reach 50 billion euros by the end of the year.

Funding that will not pose a problem according to the words of the Minister in charge of public accounts Gabriel Attal, who advances the sum of 55 billion euros in additional revenue. However​, the country’s overall budgetary situation remains worrying according to Anne Sylvain, with a public debt which has reached the colossal figure of 2,900 billion euros. A situation which is likely to worsen with the obligation to complete a deficit budget to have recourse to the loan, whose interest rates have increased with inflation. An additional cost of repayment of the debt which is estimated at 17 billion euros.
