Two roller coaster trains collided in the Legoland amusement park in Günzburg (Germany), Bavarian police announced on Thursday August 11. The accident injured 31 people, including one seriously, authorities said.

Among the injured are ten children, a teenager and a 20-year-old person. In total, sixteen people had to be hospitalized but no details were given on the condition of the seriously injured person.

Thirty injured including 10 children

Regarding the circumstances of the accident, they remain to be clarified. Two small trains, which can carry up to 20 people each, collided while one of them was stationary. The other didn’t brake enough “for some undetermined reason”, and rammed him, police said in a statement.

The accident occurred at the beginning of the afternoon in the Legoland amusement park, which presents itself as one of the best known in Germany, with its 64 attractions, including the merry-go-round “Russian mountains” for thrill seekers.
