An 18-year-old young woman, a passenger in a car, was killed by police fire overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday, during a routine check in Grenoble, France Bleu Isère learned from firefighters on Wednesday 5 october.
According to the first elements, shots were exchanged between this car and that of the police around 2:20 am. The passenger was hit in the neck. The driver, in his twenties, was injured and transported to Grenoble University Hospital, but his vital prognosis is not engaged.

According to a police source contacted by franceinfo, the motorist – who refused to comply – fired three times at the police before entering a dead end in Saint-Martin-d’Hères, near Grenoble. He tried to run into the law enforcement officers who had gotten out of their vehicle. The three police officers then used their weapons. The vehicle still managed to flee before being stopped in Grenoble by a police car after the driver lost control.
The Grenoble prosecutor’s office confirmed the facts in a press release published this Wednesday morning. An autopsy of the deceased passenger will take place on Thursday. She has been identified. The identity of the driver is not yet established. An investigation was opened and entrusted to the Grenoble judicial police concerning the attempted murder of persons holding public authority and refusal to comply. The IGPN of Lyon was also seized concerning the shootings carried out by the police.
