An 18-year-old teenager will be presented to an examining magistrate, Thursday April 6, with a view to his indictment in the investigation into the shootings which left three dead in Marseilles on the night of Sunday to Monday, announced the floor. The young man, “already condemned in particular for acts of violence”, goes be referred as part of the opening of an open judicial investigation for assassinations and attempted assassinations by an organized gang and association of criminals.

Four arrests had taken place in connection with the third shooting of the night from Sunday to Monday, which occurred near the city center, in the port district of La Joliette, which had killed three victims, a 16-year-old boy, who died on the spot, and two other teenagers aged 14 and 15, injured, one of them “a vital prognosis still engaged”said Thursday the public prosecutor of Marseille, Dominique Laurens.

Two other young people, aged 21 and 23, were killed in the first shooting of the night, near the city of Castellas, in the 15th arrondissement of Marseille, just before another series of shootings nearby, near the city of Aygalades. “The diligent investigations now make it possible to consider possible links between the acts committed in the city of Castellas and those committed a few hours later in the Joliette district”added the magistrate.

The prosecution requested the placement in pre-trial detention of the young person presented to an investigating judge.“Following investigations will aim in particular to clarify the possible links between these facts, or even with others, in addition to the identification and arrest of all the perpetrators”, says the prosecutor. The three other people arrested in connection with the investigation have been released.
