According to what the police learned, around 10:00 p.m., a person who was riding in a car opened fire on the pedestrian who was walking on avenue Hérisson, near the intersection of avenue Thérèse -Casgrain, in the district of Anjou. The car then stormed off the scene.
The police were notified of the event by at least one call to the 911 emergency telephone exchange.
When they arrived at the scene, the young man was lying on the ground, unconscious. His transport to the hospital was organised.
A security perimeter was erected in the residential area where the attack occurred.
Canine squad dogs scoured the area surrounding the shooting. Investigators and forensic identification technicians had to comb the scene.
Potential witnesses are expected to be interviewed on Monday.
