An 11-year-old boy presented himself alone on Tuesday at the Nancy police station (Meurthe-et-Moselle) to denounce the physical violence his father subjected him to, France Bleu Sud Lorraine reported on Friday April 26.

On Tuesday, around 3:30 p.m., the boy came to the Nancy police station and explained that he had just been scolded by one of his teachers for chatting. He then assures that he knows that he will receive a correction from his father when he returns home. The police quickly realized that the boy was very regularly the victim of violence within his home.

Beatings with belts and telephone cables

The boy, in sixth grade, bears marks on his body from the blows from belts or telephone cables that he often receives. The 48-year-old father is placed in police custody while the mother is interviewed as a witness. Both parents denied being violent with their child but confirmed that it was their way of raising them.

The little sister, aged seven, confirms the violence against her brother. At the end of his police custody, the father was placed under judicial supervision with a ban on having physical contact with the child. He will be tried, with his wife, next October at the Nancy criminal court.
