The Amnéville zoo in Moselle, announced this Thursday on its Facebook page the death of Kantaji, a 15-year-old male white tiger, reports France Bleu Lorraine Nord. The feline suffered from osteoarthritis and could not move in recent weeks.

Kantaji was born at Elmvale Zoo in Canada and arrived in Moselle in 2008. For more than a year, Kantaji had been treated for osteoarthritis, “in order to relieve him during his movements. His condition has worsened in recent weeks”explained the zoo.

“Have a good trip, man. Our thoughts are with his caregivers, for whom he leaves a big void,” writes the zoological park on its Facebook account.
