“Amnesty does not call for a boycott”Lola Schulmann, Amnesty International France Advocacy Officer, announced on Wednesday September 14, while the FIFA World Cup will take place in Qatar from November 21 to December 18.
Voices have been raised for several weeks to call for a boycott of this sporting event, accused in particular of not respecting the human rights of workers. Ex-French international Éric Cantona made the decision not to watch any matches and urged players not to attend. The Daily of Reunion also announced that he would not be covering the event.
