They are five in all to have set sail for Hungary. Mewen Tomac, Enzo Tesic, Maxime Grousset, Roman Fuchs and Emma Terebo participate in the world swimming championships which started this Saturday in Budapest. For the first two, accompanied by their trainer, Mathieu Neuilletit’s still a step of progress, almost a year after their first Olympic Games and two years from the next, in Paris.
From today (Sunday), “Enzo Tesic will be aligned in the 4 x 200 freestyle and the 200 individual medley. Mewen Tomac will swim him in the 50, 100 and 200 meter backstroke and the 4 x 200 medley free”, explains Mathieu Neuillet. “Today the objectives are clear”, continues the Amiens coach. “For Enzo, the idea is to go to the final with the relay. On the other hand, in the 200 medley, it’s a discovery for him on the international scene and he will have to aim for at least the semi-finals.
Aim for all the finals for Mewen Tomac
About Mewen TomacMathieu Neuillet recalls that “the last exercise at this level was the Olympic Games. So there, whatever the distance, the idea is to get into the top 8, in the final. There is obviously this intention to continue learning about these competitions, after that nothing is ever closed. why do we stop at the goal of the final, because after that I think everything is possible.”
