Amiens falls from above in Nîmes (2-0)

A week after a resounding victory on the wire (2-1) against Dijon which allowed them to keep the lead in Ligue 2, the Amiens were unable to follow up and even fell from a height. ASC lost 2-0 to penultimate Nîmes.

For this duel against crocs in bad shape (19th with 7 defeats), Philippe Hinschberger decided to establish the hero of the match against Dijon. Decisive scorer last Saturday for his return, Gaël Kakuta started the game this time at the Costières stadium. The former Lens playmaker started in support of the striker pair Papis Cissé-Tolu.

The two teams observed each other a lot from the start. Amiens had a few opportunities from corners but did not know how to take advantage of them. The guards also had a few set pieces. After one of them Malik Tchokounte knocked aside.

Nîmes open the scoring

But this same Tckokounté opened the scoring after 22 minutes. The Nîmes striker was perfectly positioned in the penalty area to receive a very good cross. Mamadou Fofanatoo short could not do anything and the gardois placed a header to adjust Regis Gurtner and score his fifth goal since the start of the season (1-0).

Amiens far too tender

untenable, Malik Tchokounte could even have doubled the bet in stride. With a fairly heavy strike, the crocos striker framed but Regis Gurtner pushed the ball away and kept the ASC afloat. But this second Nîmes goal did indeed arrive, in the 33rd. This is jens thomasentaking advantage of a too apathetic Picardy defense to slip the ball into the back of the net.

The post then the bar for Cissé

Amiens returned to the pitch with the obligation to react in the second half. Papiss Cisse almost reduced the score after three minutes. but the Senegalese striker found the post. Three minutes later, this time it was the bar that the ASC striker found after a point-blank header.

And the score did not move. Amiens concedes a third defeat this season and goes from second to fourth place in the standings with 23 points. In a week, Philippe Hinschberger’s players will host Saint-Etienne at the Licorne stadium (3 p.m.)
