A defeat to finish. Amiens lost 2-1 to a team from Auxerre now focused on the climb dams. The Picards thus end a terribly disappointing season in 14th place.
For this last game of the season, Philippe Hinschberger was forced to compose his eleven with many absences. Suspended, the captain Mateo Pavlovic didn’t see Burgundy just like Formosa Mendy, Jessy Benet and Bongani Zungu, injured. It is therefore Emmanuel Lomotey who retreated in defense while Mathis Lachuer took his place in midfield alongsideArnaud Lusamba at kickoff.
The Auxerrois, pushed by a full stadium and a fiery atmosphere pushed from the start of the match. The men of Jean-Marc Furlan approached the goals of Regis Gurtner thanks to a corner from the first minute. But it was Amiens who really created the first big chance after ten minutes. Well served by Arnaud LusambaTolu stumbled on the Burgundian goalkeeper, Donovan Leon.
Auxerre presses then scores
Auxerre created an almost equally clear chance ten minutes later. But Regis Gurtner well stopped the volley of Lassine Sinayoko. And the Burgundians continued to insist, obtaining several corners. And Amiens cracked half an hour into the game. A little too easily, after a one-two with Gaetan Charbonnier, Gauthier Hein opened the scoring (1-0), scoring his eleventh goal since the start of the season.
The smuggler almost found himself a scorer four minutes later. Served by Gauthier Eh who had succeeded in slipping away from Emmanuel Lomotey, Gaetan Charbonnier missed the 2-0 by crossing his shot which ended up on the post. Lassine Sinayoko also struck before half-time but Regis Gurtner slept well. It is therefore logical that Auxerre left with the advantage in the score.
Charbonnier doubles down
At the start of the second half, the Auxerrois pushed again. Mathias Autret, Birama Touré or even Lassine Sinayoko struck. Everytime, Regis Gurtner intervened. Gaëtan Charbonnier found the bar after a superb volley. But the former Brestois did score his 17th goal and doubled the lead for his team (2-0).
Sangaré reduces the score
Amiens still reacted ten minutes from the end. Came into play instead ofArnaud Lusamba, Mustapha Sangare reduced the score (2-1) with a superb pivot strike. His first professional goal.
