Frank Seravalli of the DailyFaceoff site got his hands on the names of the 25 players who would have been selected by USA Hockey for the Olympic tournament, which is due to begin on February 4.

Sean Farrell was the fourth-round pick, 124and overall, from the Habs to the 2020 draft. The 20-year-old forward has 19 points in 13 games this season with Harvard University, in NCAA Division 1.

Last year, in the USHL, he had 101 points in 53 games in addition to obtaining the title of league MVP.

The rest of the American roster is mostly made up of young players between the ages of 19 and 23. We find in particular Matty Beniers, first round choice (2and in total) from the Seattle Kraken in 2021, as well as first-round pick Jake Sanderson (5and in total) of the Ottawa Senators in 2020.

A few National League alumni, who are currently playing in the KHL, are also part of the team. Among others, 29-year-old forward Kenny Agostino, who has already worn the uniform of the Habs and the Laval Rocket.

Recall that the NHL announced at the end of December that its players would not take part in the Beijing Olympics. Countries must therefore draw from the various American and European leagues to build their alignment.
