American rapper Travis Scott released in Paris after violence charges

The American star was taken into custody on Friday on suspicion of violence against a security guard in a palace in the capital.

He is one of the biggest stars of American rap. Travis Scott was released on Saturday, August 10, in Paris, without criminal charges, after 36 hours in police custody on suspicion of violence, announced the Paris prosecutor’s office. The proceedings against him have been closed, the offence being insufficient characterized”according to the public prosecutor.

Early on Friday morning, the police had “were called to the Georges V Hotel” and had arrested the so-called Travis Scott for violence against a security guard. The latter had himself intervened to separate the rapper from his bodyguard”the prosecution reported on Friday.

“We are in direct contact with the local Parisian authorities in order to resolve this situation quickly,” a representative for the artist had said on Friday evening. The day before, the star had published a video showing him at the Bercy Arena, where the basketball events of the Paris Olympic Games are being played.
