American pier attached to Gaza again, aid deliveries resume

The temporary pier installed by the United States in Gaza to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid is once again attached to the coast of the Palestinian territory and aid deliveries have resumed, the American Department of Defense announced on Thursday, June 20 . American soldiers “reattached and re-established the temporary pier connected to Gaza Beach” Wednesday, Pentagon spokesman General Pat Ryder told reporters. Israeli troops assisted in the operation so that there were no American soldiers on Palestinian soil, he said. Aid deliveries resumed overnight, bringing the total delivered to the Gaza Strip via this structure to more than 4,100 tons, the general said.
