The Rocket (1-1-1) fell to the Thunderbirds (0-3-0) in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals of the 2021-22 season playoffs. It was the first of two clashes between the two clubs during the campaign.
Gabriel Bourque hit the target for the third time in as many games. Tory Dello finished the job for the Rocket in an empty net.
Joel Hofer stopped 28 shots in the loss. Only a powerful shot from the wrists of Bourque, following a cross pass from Otto Leskinen, deceived the vigilance of the 22-year-old goalkeeper.
Only 53 seconds into the game, the Rocket found the back of the net. However, during the scrum in front of Hofer, Brandon Gignac touched the puck above the allowed height to bring the puck into the crease and the goal was canceled.
