Laval won 6-5 in the third period of overtime on Wednesday to sweep the Rochester Americans 3-0 in the third round of the Calder Cup playoffs.

Jean-Sébastien Dea scored the winning goal on the 60and match shot.

This is the first time since 2011 that a school club of the Canadian reached the four aces of the American League.

Jesse Ylönen scored with 67 seconds remaining in the third period to force overtime. Brandon Gignac, Danick Martel, Xavier Ouellet and Dea, again, scored the other goals for the Laval residents.

In the next round, Laval will face the winner of the series between the Charlotte Checkers and the Springfield Thunderbirds. The Thunderbirds lead the series 2-0. The next match of this confrontation will take place on Saturday. This is a series 3 of 5.
