American League | The Laval Rocket loses 5-3 against the Belleville Senators

Despite a good start to the game and a 2-0 lead in the second period, the Laval Rocket lost 5-3 against the Belleville Senators on Friday.

The first period was marked by several penalties. No goal was scored, but 18 penalty minutes were awarded, among other things due to a fight between Riley McKay and Brennan Saulnier.

The Rocket took a 1-0 lead midway through the second period using the 10e net of the season from Peter Abbandonato. A few minutes later, Pierrick Dubé made it 2-0, having gotten an assist on the Rocket’s first goal.

The Senators came back into the game with two quick goals, however, to tie the game 2-2 before the end of the second period.

After tying 2-2 with his 18e of the season, Angus Crookshank scored his second goal of the game to give the Senators a first lead.

The goal seemed to give the home side a boost, which made it 4-2 less than two minutes later. Jacob Bernard-Docker scored his first of the season, while Scott Sabourin got his second assist of the game on the play.

The last minutes of the match were intense, as two more goals were added. Ekor Sokolov added a fifth goal for the Senators and William Trudeau finished the game with his second of the season, making it 5-3.

The Rocket therefore lost a second straight game, having lost to the Comets on February 11.
