(Rochester) Jiri Kulich scored two goals and an assist, Michael Mersch also had a brace and the Rochester Americans won an 8-4 offensive fest over the Laval Rocket on Friday.
Lukas Rousek broke a 1-1 tie late in the first period, then Mersch scored his first goal of the game 34 seconds later and the Americans were able to maintain their lead thereafter.
Jeremy Davies, Linus Weissbach and Ethan Prow also hit the mark for the Americans. Malcolm Subban stopped 20 pitches.
On the side of the Rocket, Brandon Gignac amassed a goal and two assists and Gabriel Bourque, a goal and an assist. Joël Teasdale and Lucas Condotta also moved the ropes.
Cayden Primeau allowed four goals on 17 shots in 24:52 of play before giving up his place in the Rocket net to Kevin Poulin. The latter also yielded four times against 17 shots.
