(Cleveland) Kerry Carpenter hit a three-run homer in the ninth against Emmanuel Clase and the Detroit Tigers won 3-0 at Cleveland on Monday, tying their second-round series at 1-1 against the Guardians.
Confronted with the star stopper, Carpenter sent the ball 423 feet from the plate, after two outs.
Clase led the American with 47 saves this year.
He has allowed just five earned runs in 74 games this season, including none since August 30. He allowed only three shots of four goals.

Carpenter did not play from May 26 to August 13 due to a broken lumbar spine.
He hit 18 home runs in 87 games.
Ace Tarik Skubal gave up just two doubles and a single in seven innings, striking out eight batters.
The 1er October, he shut out the Astros for six innings in Houston in the first round.
Jake Rogers and Trey Sweeney singled with two outs in the ninth. When Clause challenged Carpenter with a third straight slider, the ball ended up well beyond right-center field.
