American League | Senators win 4-1 over Rocket

(Belleville) Antoine Bibeau was sensational in front of his net and the Belleville Senators defeated the Laval Rocket 4-1 on Saturday night in an American Hockey League game.

Bibeau stood before 49 shots, but he made 37 saves in the last 40 minutes of play, after a first period in which the two teams were tied 1-1.

It was a special teams affair for the Senators (8-9-1), who snapped a three-game losing streak and distanced themselves from the Montreal Canadiens’ farm club in the North Section.

Angus Crookshank scored two power-play goals as Cole Reinhardt hit the target shorthanded for the Belleville squad.

Scott Sabourin completed the scoring in an empty net while Jake Lucchini had two assists.

Lucas Condotta was the author of the only goal for the Rocket (6-11-3), which again missed an opportunity to win two games in a row for the first time this season.

Kevin Poulin gave up three times in 20 shots for Jean-François Houle’s team.
