American League | Logan Shaw and the Marlies defeat the Rocket in overtime

(Laval) Logan Shaw completed his hat trick in overtime and the Toronto Marlies beat the Laval Rocket 5-4 Friday night at Place Bell.

Graham Slaggert and Adam Gaudette also scored for the Marlies (7-2-0). Joey Anderson had two assists.

The Rocket (2-6-2) thus suffered a third consecutive loss. Jesse Ylönen led the team with a goal and two assists.

Lucas Condotta, Rafaël Harvey-Pinard and Xavier Simoneau also provided the response for Jean-François Houle’s men.

Simoneau forced an extra period by moving the ropes during a power play, with only 24 seconds left in the game.

Nicolas Beaudin, acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks last Wednesday, played his first game in a Rocket uniform.

Cayden Primeau made 27 saves for the Montreal Canadiens.

Dylan Ferguson stopped 36 shots for Toronto.

The Rocket will return to action Saturday afternoon at Place Bell against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. This will be the last game of a six-game home streak for the Laval squad.
