American League | Chicago Wolves in the Calder Cup final

(Chicago) The Chicago Wolves earned their ticket to the Calder Cup final on Tuesday by defeating the Stockton Heat in six games.

The Carolina Hurricanes farm club will cross swords with the winner of the series between the Laval Rocket and the Springfield Thunderbirds. The final duel of the Eastern Conference Series will take place on Wednesday.

Wolves won the sixth game 3-0 thanks to goals from Ivan Lodnia and Andrew Poturalski and then Josh Leivo into an empty net.

The Chicago club finished first in the American Hockey League standings – so they will start the final series at home on Sunday.

Wolves won the first three games of the series before suffering back-to-back losses. However, they avoided a one-night stand with their victory on Tuesday.
