Jonathan Majors, rising star in Hollywood, was arrested in Manhattan. The American actor is suspected of assaulting a 30-year-old woman, New York police said on Sunday March 26.
Police said they responded to a call for emergency services on the morning of Saturday 25 March and after a “Preliminary investigation”, she determined that “a 33-year-old man had been involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman”according to a press release.
The woman, who told police she was “assaulted“and whose relationship to the actor has not been clarified, was taken to hospital for treatment of minor head and neck injuries, and is in a “stable state”according to the same source.
New audition in May
Jonathan Majors’ agent, Carrie Gordon, assured in a press release published by the daily IBone Angeles Times, that the actor had “nothing wrong”.
She said she hoped she could “clear his name” quickly, while the actor’s lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, quoted by local media, claimed that they “gathered and would promptly present evidence to the district attorney in the hope that all charges against him would be dropped”.
Judicial authorities did not respond to AFP’s requests, but according to local media, the actor has been released and will have to appear before a judge again on May 8, 2023.
Jonathan Majors is currently starring in two big budget films, Creed III And Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. He also plays in Magazine Dreamsa film presented recently at the Sundance film festival in Utah (west).
