American actor Jamie Foxx is the target of a sexual assault complaint in New York, according to a New York court document. According to this complaint filed before the Supreme Court of the State of New York, a court of first instance, consulted by AFP on Wednesday November 22, Eric Marlon Bishop, alias Jamie Foxx, allegedly sexually assaulted the complainant, who kept his anonymity, during an evening on the roof terrace of a bar-restaurant in Manhattan in August 2015.

The actor is notably accused of having “slipped his hands into the complainant’s underwear and placed his fingers in her vagina and anus”, facts that meet the definition of rape. This procedure occurs on the eve of the expiration of a law of the State of New York, the Adult Survivors Act, which allows, since November 2022, for victims of sexual violence to file a civil complaint for prescribed facts.

Jamie Foxx notably won the Oscar for best actor in 2005 for his incarnation of singer Ray Charles, in the biopic Ray. He was also nominated for an Academy Award for his role in Collateral (2004), and also made an impression by playing a slave conquering his freedom in Quentin Tarantino’s western Django Unchained (2012).
