Amélie Oudéa-Castéra calls on FIFA after racist chants by Argentinian players against the French team

The Minister of Sports, Olympic and Paralympic Games has called on the International Federation to react after the racist chants by Argentinian players towards the French players, following their victory in the Copa America.

A celebration that does not go down well. Winners of the Copa America in the United States on Monday, July 15 after a final won against Colombia, the Argentinian players distinguished themselves in a very bad way. On the way back to their hotel, the world champions sang racist chants against the French. The Minister of Sports, Olympic and Paralympic Games, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, reacted on Tuesday, July 16, on X, denouncing “behaviors that are all the more unacceptable because they are repeated“The minister judges this video”pathetic” and calls on FIFA, demanding a “reaction.”

In a live broadcast on Instagram by midfielder Enzo Fernandez, the players can be heard starting to sing a song with racist connotations. A tune already sung by Argentinian supporters during the 2022 World Cup criticizing the origins of the French players. The Chelsea player then interrupted the broadcast, but the first words were clearly intelligible.

This chant, sung by Argentinian supporters against the players of the French team and Kylian Mbappé, was broadcast for the first time live from Qatar on an Argentinian television channel.
