Amélie Mauresmo files a complaint against her wife for “harassment”: “I am going through hell”

This Tuesday, January 23, 2024, the future ex-wife of Amélie Mauresmo was judged behind closed doors by the Bayonne court, in front of his wife, who had filed a civil suit against her. And for good reason… As revealed by France Bleu and The Parisian this Wednesday, the tennis champion initiated legal proceedings against his wife last September, filing a complaint against her for “harassment”. At the time, Marie-Bénédicte Hurel was placed in police custody, then released pending her trial. This Tuesday, in court, Amélie Mauresmo assured “(experience) hell” since she filed for divorce, denouncing acts of “humiliation, blackmail, insults”which she would receive directly, but also by SMS.

The civil party’s lawyer revealed a total incapacity for work (ITT) of ten days, prescribed to Amélie Mauresmo because of the “hell” that she denounces and takes to the courts. The public prosecutor ruled in favor of Amélie Mauresmo, and required ten months suspended prison sentence against the one who still remains his wife. The verdict will be rendered on February 13, the eve of Valentine’s Day, indicate our aforementioned colleagues.

Married since 2021, the two women met in 2014, and lived a beautiful love story for nine years. But in mid-2023, the tennis champion decided to end their marriage. Marie-Bénédicte Hurel, 60, firmly contests the facts that Amélie Mauresmo accuses her of. His lawyers stated that “the contested text messages do not relate to harassment at all, but to a simple discussion on daily management”. The defense is calling for their client to be released. Verdict in three weeks…
