In Scenes of households, Amélie Etasse plays the character of Camille and forms with Philippe (played by Grégoire Bonnet) a childless couple. In real life, she became a mom a few months ago, giving birth to a baby boy. The actress meticulously chose the baby’s name, but also has some doubts.
Amélie Etasse gave birth on August 23, 2020. Her companion Clément Séjourné and she thus welcomed a little boy whom they named Vasco. The new mother confided in the choice of the first name of her son, in an interview with the site Magic Mom and published last February.
We wondered if we had chosen it too quickly …
“My companion is a fan of explorers. One day he said to me: ‘Last night I watched a documentary on Vasco da Gama, and I love that name.’ I was there: ‘Yes, it’s very beautiful, short, lively!’ The first name Vasco is Basque, but we are fans of the Spanish Basque country. Besides, I liked that it was an explorer’s first name. He still discovered the route to India! Of course, we were still interested in his life, so as not to give our son a slave name!“, explained Amélie Etasse, before expressing her hesitation.
She adds : “It scared us, we wondered if we hadn’t chosen him too quickly, if he would really have ‘a Vasco face’.“
