The former driving school manager – converted into a sports coach – appeared on Tuesday May 3 in front of the Hauts-de-Seine remand center to serve a fifteen-month prison sentence, as reported by The Parisian. Just four months after the Versailles Court of Appeal saved him from prison in the driving license trafficking case, the father of Amel Bent’s three children – already the mother of Sofia (6) and Hana (4 and a half years), she welcomed a little boy on April 7 – finds herself facing justice again. But why does Patrick Antonelli end up in prison?
The judges sentenced him for having illegally exercised the profession of security guard because he replaced one day, at short notice, a bodyguard of Amel Bent. He was therefore imprisoned in the Nanterre remand center (Hauts-de-Seine), to serve a fifteen-month prison sentence, pronounced on March 8 by the Nanterre criminal court. Patrick Antonelli presented an invoice when he did not have the right to exercise, committing fraud in the judgment. And the scam does not stop there since the singer’s companion also benefited from state aid paid to compensate for the decline in activity during the Covid-19 pandemic. Help to which he had no right.
The birth of Amel Bent delayed the prison…
Why was he not immediately placed in prison on March 8, at the time of the conviction? Judges did not issue warrant of committal that day because Amel Bent, his companion, was about to give birth. There was therefore a deferred deposit mandate, allowing him to organize himself before joining the prison, specify our colleagues. A mandate pronounced with provisional execution, which implies that in the event of an appeal – Patrick Antonelli appealed as soon as this judgment was pronounced – he must still go through the prison box. The first time, in the license trafficking case, which mixed personalities such as football stars and the media in particular, the father of the family had precisely succeeded in avoiding this passage behind bars because, in July 2020, the mandate of deferred deposit was without provisional execution.
Emergency hospitalization
A blow for the family clan to which is added the emergency hospitalization of Amel Bent’s newborn babybecause he was having trouble breathing due to a acute bronchiolitis – a viral infection – a few days before Dad’s incarceration.
