This trial, broadcast live on television, gave rise to an unpacking of the private life of the ex-couple, in front of millions of viewers around the world. Dozens of hours of testimony and audio or video recordings have revealed details of the married life of Amber Heard and Johnny Depp between 2011 and 2016.

Amber Heard disappointedand “devastated”

On the other hand, it is much less cheerful for Amber Heard who comes out defeatist. The 36-year-old actress, present in court, welcomed the verdict with a serious face, seeming to accuse the blow.

Indeed, after some 13 hours of deliberations, the jurors of the Fairfax court considered that the title as well as two passages from a column published by the actress in 2018 in the washington postcontained defamatory comments about her ex-husband whom she accused of domestic violence.

For Amber Heard, the decision of this verdict is a “inexpressible disappointment“.”I am devastated that the mountain of evidence was not enough to deal with the far greater power, influence and ascendancy of my ex-husband. I am even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It’s a setback. This refers to the time when a woman who spoke and expressed herself could be humiliated in public. This puts a damper on the fact that violence against women should be taken seriously“, she expressed at length in a statement posted on her Twitter account.
