Amandine Petit arrived on the Côte d’Azur to attend the Cannes Film Festival officially launched this Tuesday, May 17, 2022. She however believed that she would never get there. This Sunday, the 24-year-old was still in Casablanca with friends and was about to fly back to Paris. “The start of a journey“, as she so aptly wrote in her story Instagram (see slideshow), which she was far from imagining at that time.
Amandine Petit went by taxi to Casablanca airport. If the road went well, Miss France 2021 found that she had forgotten her mobile phone in the vehicle that had already left. Luckily, the driver, still close to the scene, had time to report to him. But it took little for the boarding gates of the plane bringing her back to Paris to close before she boarded. The timing was played at a minute, and as much to say that if she had heard of the trip that awaited her, Amandine Petit would have missed her flight willingly.
“Surely because of the storms, the plane had a lot of turbulence, including at two moments precisely, when we descended in altitude very quickly. Screams, tears, a lot of anguish from the passengers, it was impressive” she said on social media. That was not all: “Shortly after, the flight was diverted but we did not know why. (…) Without information from the Captain, there was beginning to be panic. And at the time of landing, we were beginning to be relieved, the commander went around on request from the control tower.“
After a few aerial adventures, the plane ended up landing in Paris, delivering its travelers plagued by anguish and worry. A day that Amandine Petit was therefore very happy to have finally finished: “We spent a day full of emotions. All’s well that ends well, but when you get on a plane and there are things like this that happen, there are fears, cries, people are in panic, everyone is in panic, it was not funny. ” We were far from 7th heaven, indeed.
