Amandine Henry and Eugénie Le Sommer absent from Corinne Deacon’s list of 23

They will be 23 in search of the European title. The coach of the France football team, Corinne Deacon, announced on Monday May 30 on TF1, the list of players who will compete in the Euro, from July 6 to 31 in England. Executives, such as captain Wendie Renard and winger Delphine Cascarino, are among the lucky ones.

On the other hand, the captain of the last World Cup, in 2019, Amandine Henry, was not recalled. Due to disputes with the boss of Les Bleues, the Lyon midfielder has been sidelined for a year and a half. Eugénie Le Sommer, top scorer in the history of the France team, is the other big absentee. Both players took part in OL’s recent double (league and Champions League).

“There are several criteriajustified Corinne Deacon. We are not based on the performance of a day. These are observations over an entire season. They have worn the France team jersey many times and performed there, but I had a difficult choice to make that I will assume until the end.

Already absent in April, the Parisian Kheira Hamraoui will not go to the base camp of Ashby-de-la-Zouch, in the county of Leicester either. On the other hand, the French team will be able to count on the best player and scorer in the French championship, Marie-Antoinette Katoto, or even on goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin.
