Amanda Sthers and Patrick Bruel impressed by their sons Oscar and Léon, rare secrets about their education

If we want the world to change, we must attack the evil at the root and raise our children in a new state of mind. This is the mission given to Amanda Sthers, author and filmmaker, mother of two boys she had when she was in a relationship with Patrick Bruel: Oscar, born in 2003 and Léon, born in 2005. Passing through the podcast Go to table by Eleonora Galasso, to promote her latest novel The Suspended Cafe – published by Grasset editions on May 4, 2022 – she has actually agreed to discuss her vision of feminism, the one she tries to instill in her family members.

There is still a lot of injustice, a lot of inequalityexplains Amanda Sthers. This way of seeing the world will take years. As a mother of boys, I’m glad to see that’s starting to change. Anyway, I raised my kids to look at women differently..” It’s a dream scenario, for her who describes her own childhood as “not very sunny“, having been a very reserved, dark little girl, who did not like being decided for her.

My sons have respect for their girlfriends

Last time there was a very pretty girl and the father of my eldest [Patrick Bruel, NDLR.] said “So you don’t like her?” and he replied “She is very pretty but she has nothing to say”she recalls. I liked the fact that for him it was as important as the envelope. He already has it all figured out. My sons have respect for their girlfriends. They have lots of girlfriends who come to the house, who have things to say, who have ambitions, and when they describe their ideal woman she always has a dream or a goal. They are women full of ideas and that’s what they like.” Amanda Sthers married the French singer Patrick Bruel in 2004, until 2007, the year of their divorce. The two former maintain excellent relations, in particular for the well-being of their two children.
