Amaëlle or Karamelle on Instagram and Sommelier in Bordeaux takes you to Porto

Follow Karamelle for this express excursion (30 hours straight), towards Porto. Globetrotter, Amaëlle found a flight for 37€ round trip. 1h20 of flight, it’s almost shorter and less expensive than going by car on the basin and the change of scenery is total. All activities in Porto are frankly less expensive than in France. Your Instagrammer has chosen, for example, to have lunch with your feet in the sand, facing the ocean at the bistronomic restaurant Praia da Luz, after taking the legendary Porto tram. Octopus a lagareiro for two and two glasses of wine later, the bill comes to 30€ per person and the view is magical, admit that it’s tempting.

Amaëlle: Going to Porto without drinking Porto is impossible! I took my last savings to dine at the Vinum restaurant at Graham’s cellars. Historic cellars, high-flying restaurant, breathtaking view of an all-illuminated Port Tawny 20-year-old Port, a pure delight with aromas of cocoa and bitter oranges.

Finally, and if you still have a little energy, head to the Torto cocktail bar. Right in the center and with a decoration between the modern neon and the old earthenware, you will find tailor-made compositions offered by a professional and welcoming staff who will even take the trouble to teach you two or three words of Portuguese.

Amaëlle, more commonly called Karamelle on the networks and by her friends, is currently an apprentice sommelier at the Table de Montaigne, at the Palais Gallien in Bordeaux. Amaëlle sets her bags in 2018 in Bordeaux but it is only from 2020 that the passion for wine is declared. Before, she was a child of Bilbao, Madrid, Naples, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria… In short, a bit of a free spirit who goes along with linguistic, cultural and culinary discoveries!
