Alyosha Schneider, the strength of the intimate

Actor, singer, and author of one of the most beautiful albums of this fall: thus we can present Alyocha Schneider, who has just released his third album, written while he was filming Cédric Klapisch’s series, “Salade” in Athens. Grecque”, and on which he tries his hand at French lyrics. With total success.

Alyosha Schneider has just turned 30, and feels like he’s already accomplished a lot. Actor, incidentally little brother of Niels Schneider, first role in the series Greek salad by Cédric Klapisch, a recognizable face from a family of artists who grew up in Quebec… In the middle of all that, a passion, music.

This third album, Aliocha largely wrote and composed in Greece, where for more than six months he filmed this famous series, far from his loved ones, from his girlfriend Charlotte Cardin in particular, another strong voice in music at Montreal, and author of another remarkable album this fall.

Lack sparked inspiration, and set the tone for a deeply romantic album, layered with an irrepressible feeling of distant love. “I like Barbara, who says that she can’t invent, that there is no imagination, he explains. I wanted us to feel the warmth of the Mediterranean and to smell the sea, to even hear the people around me, I made my actor friends sing. I was far from the people I love, from my girlfriend, so obviously, these are things that inspired me at that time.

“I like this way of seeing things, of not imagining anything, of talking about the feelings that we know.”

For the first time, the young man chose French to express himself; a more frontal side certainly, a desire to indulge more: “It’s true that I’ve always played folk, that I was influenced by American folk from the 60s, notably Dylan and Simon & Garfunkel. And yes, in French, it’s much more complicated, that’s why it took me time to do it.

And with this in mind, his producer Marc-André Gilbert helped him a lot, too: “Often, intimate things seem too simple, too obvious. As in the title Together, when I sing ‘I miss you so much’; It’s not well written, it’s what I texted to my girlfriend but he’s the one who pushes me to accept it.

And it did him a lot of good not to restrain his intimate side, as this album, in French, is one of the most beautiful and sincere heard this year.
